Cellular paving has been around for some years now, originally as a grass protection and anti-gravel-migration system for car parks, but recently landscape architects and highways engineers have been expanding its range of applications due to the water permeablility of the product, which means it is perfect for incorporating into SuDS strategies.

British Recycled Products have supplied a significant quantity of the Hebden 40 to the Ministry of Defence, The National Trust and many councils and schools across the UK. It is also widely used in the landscaping and construction industry.

This type of product goes by many generic names including grass reinforcement, ecopaving, source control grids, driveway reinforcement, ground stabilisation grids, sustainable path drainage, cellular paving, turf reinforcement mesh, porous paving, permeable paving, ground reinforcement, matrix paving, geo-matrices, gravel protection, gravel migration prevention, grass grids and soil reinforcement, to name but a few.
This can be confusing, but the most important and relevant point is that the
Hebden 40 can be filled with grass or gravel, then driven over, parked on and walked on whilst allowing rainwater to permeate back into the ground.
The Hebden 40 is the highly durable, environmentally-friendly alternative surface for permanent and overspill car parks, private driveways, pathways, verge stabilisation, emergency vehicle access lanes, golf buggy paths, helicopter pads, cycle routes and many other uses.
The Hebden 40 is finished with either grass or gravel allowing it to blend unobtrusively into parks, rural areas or heritage sites, unlike asphalt or block paving.

Its modular grid system makes it easy to fit and allows rainwater to filter back to the water table, making it perfect for incorporating into SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) strategies.
NB. Hebden 40 ecopaving should not be mistaken for effective, but often imported, products like Bodpave, Grasstrax, GrassProtecta, Farmura Matrix, GTTrax, Hoofmark, Geogrid, Golpa, Perfo, Terragrid, Netlon, Netpave, Ecogrid, Gridforce, Ritter, GroundGuard, Nidagravel, or ADPave. The Hebden 40 is manufactured in Britain using 100% British plastic diverted from landfill.
The Hebden 40 should most definitely not be mistaken for Grasscrete which is something completely different that uses concrete and not recycled plastic.
